What is the DNEye® Scanner?
Think of it as a fingerprint scanner, but for your eyes.
The DNEye® Scanner captures over 7,000 precise measurements per eye, including:
- The exact length and shape of your eye
- How light enters and travels through your eye
- Your day and night vision profiles
- Corneal curvature and pupil size
This in-depth data allows us to build a biometric model of your eye, a completely personalised blueprint we use to create your custom lenses.

Advanced diagnostic testing may be recommended to provide a clearer and more detailed understanding of your eyes. These can include high-resolution scans of your retina, nerve layers, and measurements of the front and internal structure of your eyes. These tests enhance diagnostic accuracy, enabling us to identify potential issues early, even before symptoms appear.
Please note: Medicare or private health extras do not cover diagnostic testing. We’ll always let you know in advance if any of these tests are recommended for your care.

How It Works
1. We Start with a Super Detailed 3D Scan of Your Eyes
Using over 7000 points of data, the DNEye® Scanner captures a detailed 3D map of each of your eyes.It doesn’t just measure eye length – it also gathers advanced biometric information such as:
- The length and shape of your eye
- Higher and lower-order aberrations (which can cause blur or distortion)
- Your pupil size at both near and far distances
- How your eyes respond in different lighting conditions
This scan gives us a much clearer picture than a regular eye test ever could.
2. We Build a Biometric Model of Your Eyes
The data collected from your DNEye Scan is used to create a precise biometric model of each of your eyes. This includes detailed information such as eye length, corneal shape and thickness, pupil size in both bright and dim light, and the depth of key internal structures within the eye.
With this highly accurate model, we can design custom-made lenses to match your individual eye, down to the micrometre, for truly personalised vision correction
3. Your Custom Lenses Are Made Just for You
Your unique eye data, along with the exact measurements of your chosen frame, is sent to Rodenstock to create lenses that are perfectly tailored to both your eyes and your glasses.
